Description
Printmasters, a Romanian printer and promotional products manufacturer, announced the shutdown of its Cicârlău factory, resulting in about 450 job cuts. The plant will close by the end of 2027. The decision follows a strategic realignment by the parent group. The parent company XD Connects aims to consolidate production for Central and Eastern Europe into one unit, aiming to improve efficiency.
Around 450 employees will be laid off, and the support measures include severance packages, outplacement assistance, and counseling, with discussions underway with employee representatives and local authorities.
Founded in 2008 and acquired by XD Connects in 2012, Printmasters continues operations elsewhere while the Cicarlau site closes by year-end 2027.
