Description

Amaco, an Italian public transport operator, announced that 108 employees of its municipalised transport unit in Cosenza will be directly dismissed as part of its judicial liquidation. The company is set to cease operations after the provisional exercise concludes on 30 September 2026, with assets slated for auction from its headquarters at Contrada Torrevecchia. The closure follows failed attempts by Consorzio Autolinee to acquire Amaco and a €2.1 million offer that was rejected, leaving the municipal transport service in transition.

Trade unions have opposed the employment losses and called for institutional intervention to safeguard jobs and ensure continuity of public transport services.
