Description

Weiss-Druck, a German printing company based in Monschau in the Eifel region, announced the reduction of 57 positions as part of a restructuring programme. The changes affect production operations at the Monschau site and are scheduled to be fully implemented by the end of September 2026.

The restructuring is intended to streamline operations, improve productivity, and focus on economically sustainable business segments. As part of this strategy, the company has discontinued its sheet-fed printing division and intends to concentrate on large-scale web offset printing contracts in the future. The sheet-fed printing operation was closed on 31 May 2026, and the strategic realignment is expected to be completed by the end of September 2026.

Most workforce adjustments were achieved through mutually agreed arrangements, internal transfers, retirement agreements, the expiry of fixed-term contracts, and voluntary departures, thereby minimising compulsory redundancies. The reductions in this case mainly affect administrative staff.

Weiss-Druck, one of Germany's leading offset printing sites, will retain 470 jobs at its Monschau facility. The restructuring affects approximately 11% of the workforce at the site.
