Description
Schuler, a German manufacturer of presses and metal-forming equipment for the automotive industry, announced that it will cut more than 500 jobs in 2026. The company is headquartered in Göppingen and is a subsidiary of the Austrian engineering group Andritz.
The job reductions are the result of a prolonged slowdown in investment across the automotive sector, prompting Schuler to discontinue non-core activities such as tooling and pilot production in order to maintain profitability in a lower-volume market environment.
Schuler did not disclose how it intends to implement the workforce reduction or which measures will be used to carry out the job cuts.
The company employs around 5,000 people worldwide.
Previous internal restructuring cases were recorded in the ERM database in May 2026, involving the elimination of 200 jobs Andritz Schuler 2026 - DE.
