European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Siemens, a German technology conglomerate, announced the creation of approximately 700 new jobs across its production facilities in Frankfurt and Offenbach by the end of 2030. Siemens will expand production at its two existing switchgear plants in Frankfurt, including the construction of a new production hall scheduled for completion by October 2027. In addition, the company will establish a new supplier facility in Offenbach, where construction is due to begin in July 2026 and operations are expected to start in spring 2027. The expansion is being driven by the global surge in demand for data centres, fuelled by artificial intelligence, which requires a high number of switchgears.
Siemens currently employs around 86,000 people in Germany.
