Description

Atlas, a German construction machinery manufacturer, has announced that 180 positions will be cut across its three production plants in Ganderkesee, Delmenhorst and Vechta. A timeline for the redundancies has not yet been disclosed.

Atlas has filed for insolvency and has been acquired by the company Buhler Versatile. The job cuts form part of a restructuring programme aimed at securing the company’s future in the context of the takeover by the Canadian investor, and to avoid liquidation if the planned redundancies are not implemented. The decision is driven by financial pressures and the need to meet the conditions attached to the takeover agreement.

The job losses are evenly distributed across the three sites. IG Metall has been informed and will enter negotiations with the company.

Atlas employs around 400 people.
