Description
Consum, a Spanish supermarket cooperative, has announced plans to hire more than 300 workers in Catalonia in 2026, boosting its workforce above 5 000 employees in Spain. The expansion will create new roles in seven company-owned stores and thirteen franchised stores under the Consum Charter brand, as well as new logistics and office facilities across Catalonia.
The growth reflects Consum’s strategy to reinforce its market presence in Catalonia and respond to competitive pressures, geopolitical tensions and changing consumer confidence. The company will invest 58.6 million euros in Catalonia during 2026, with 46.4 million earmarked for store openings, expansions and reforms, 11.2 million for logistics innovations and around one million for office upgrades.
