Description
The French biopharmaceutical company Valneva announced plans to reduce its global workforce by up to 15%, which equates to between 67 and 101 job losses worldwide.
These cuts are intended to reduce operating costs in the face of a downturn in demand for travel vaccines and geopolitical pressures that have eroded sales. The plan also seeks to streamline Valneva’s global operations by consolidating R&D work in Vienna and centralising other functions. Job losses will be distributed across all operating regions. The French site in Lyon will absorb the impact of the closure in Nantes, while Vienna will host the remaining R&D workforce.
Valneva employs a total of 674 people worldwide.
