European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Mondelez International, an American food and beverage company, announced a new production line in Opava, Czechia, that will create up to 120 new jobs. The expansion is part of its Fidorka chocolate wafer production and aims to double the plant’s capacity.
The new line features advanced robotics and digital controls that enable operators to manage the process through touchscreens and data-logging systems. The company emphasised that digitalisation of the plant is a key driver for the job creation. Hence, the company is looking for staff trained in using digital solutions and capable of routine maitanance.
Mondelez International is a global snack producer with more than 70,000 employees worldwide, out of which more than 1,300 are employed in Opava.
The last restructuring by Mondelez in Czechia was another business expansion in Ostava creating 200 jobs and was registered by the ERM in 2014 Mondelez Czech Republic 2014 - CZ.
