Description

Dow, an American chemical company, has announced the loss of 110 jobs at its plant in Stade, Germany.

The reduction forms part of Dow’s global “Transform to Outperform” cost‑cutting programme, aimed at streamlining operations amid high energy and CO2 costs, regulatory pressure, and intensified competition from Asia that was registered by the ERM events databse Dow 2026 - WO.

The head of the Stade site emphasised that the job cuts would be implemented in a socially responsible manner; however, specific measures have not been disclosed.

The cuts represent roughly ten per cent of the site’s workforce of 1,100 employees.
