Description

Avion Express, a Lithuanian aviation firm specialising in ACMI (Aircraft-Leasing-with-Maintenance-and-Insurance) services, announced the dismissal of 199 staff members—110 in Lithuania:Avian Express 2026 - LT and 89 in Malta—effective from 13  April  2026. The cuts reflect the company’s response to the conflict in the Middle East, rising fuel costs and market uncertainty, which have sharply reduced demand for ACMI services.

Avion Express remains the largest ACMI provider worldwide, employing 433 people before the restructuring. The layoffs will affect technical maintenance specialists, flight-operations staff and administrative personnel across both countries.
