Description

H&M has announced an Employment Redundancy File (ERE) affecting 106 positions in its Spanish offices in Madrid and Barcelona. The majority of the affected employees work at the company’s Barcelona headquarters, where approximately 230 staff provide services such as planning, billing and human resources for six European markets.

Trade unions expect the final number of redundancies to be reduced by up to 40% through internal redeployment and opportunities for international mobility within the group. The agreement reached with management provides for severance payments of 45 days per year of service accrued up to February 2012 and 33 days per year thereafter, capped at 24 months’ gross salary.

This latest adjustment follows several workforce restructurings in Spain since 2019, including store closures and previous EREs. H&M ended the 2025 financial year with sales of 228.3 billion Swedish kronor (approximately €21.6 billion), down 2.6% year on year, with a further decline in the fourth quarter.

H&M experienced a previous restructuring process in 2024 H&M 2024-ES
