Description

Oskar Frech, a German manufacturer of die casting machines, announced to cut 80 jobs at its site in Plüderhausen. The workforce reduction is expected to be completed by the end of 2026, leaving a total of 220 employees.

The measures are driven by a significant decline in demand from the automotive sector, as well as increasing cost pressures. In response, the company aims to improve efficiency and strengthen its technological leadership.

Of the 80 positions affected, 50 will be eliminated through direct redundancies, while the remaining 30 will be reduced through retirements and the non-replacement of staff. In addition, the company plans to relocate its cold-chamber casting operations to facilities in Shanghai and the United States.

Prior to the reduction, the company employed 300 staff. The planned cut of 80 positions therefore represents approximately 26.7 percent of its workforce.
