European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The José de Mello Group — CUF has inaugurated Hospital CUF Leiria, creating 300 new jobs in the healthcare sector.
The hospital, located in Leiria, is expected to be fully operational by the end of May 2026.
The expansion is being driven by the integration of advanced digital technologies, such as a robotic orthopaedic system and a 3D hybrid microscope, as well as by a strong environmental agenda, including a 540-panel photovoltaic array and water reuse systems.
This new hospital will join the CUF network, which already comprises 66 hospitals, clinics and healthcare centres, alongside home care services and digital channels, employing 17,000 staff and serving more than 1.4 million patients across the country.
