Description
Bouchara, a French home decoration retailer, has announced 358 redundancies following judicial recovery proceedings.
The process resulted in Hong Kong-based AA Investments acquiring 25 stores and retaining 184 employees, leaving the remainder of the workforce facing job losses. Store closures are set to begin in May 2026, driven by a sustained decline in household spending and intensified price competition from e-commerce platforms. The decision has drawn criticism from trade unions CGT and FO, which raised concerns regarding the terms of the liquidation during the proceedings.
