European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Damen Shipyards Mangalia, a Romanian shipbuilding firm, announced the dismissal of 1011 employees from its Mangalia shipyard. The closure of the shipyard will be completed by 16 July 2026, with the first wave of 740 workers ending on 26 June 2026 and a second wave of 271 workers concluding on that same date.
The layoffs result from the company’s entry into bankruptcy and liquidation, following a rejected reorganisation plan. Social partners, including Sindicatul Navalistul, were notified and will discuss mitigation measures.
