Description

Amazon, an American e-commerce multinational, announced the creation of 7,000 permanent jobs in France, through the construction of four new distribution centres in Illiers-Combray (Eure-et-Loir), Beauvais (Oise), Colombier-Saugnieu (Rhône), and Ensisheim (Haut-Rhin). The positions are varied, ranging from human resources and marketing, to engineering. A high number of positions are open for order pickers and logistics staff.

The aim of the expansion is to strengthen Amazon's local presence and supply chain resilience. The first three sites are set to open in 2026, creating 5,000 positions, while the fourth is expected to begin operations in late 2027, adding a further 2,000 roles. 1,000 positions will be created in Illiers-Combray, 1,000 in Beauvais, and 3,000 in Colombier-Saugnieu. This expansion is driven by Amazon’s investment in the cloud, and artificial intelligence, and a network of nearby logistics hubs.

Amazon currently has over 25 000 employees in its eight distribution centres and four sorting centres in France.
