Description
Nestlé, a Swiss multinational food and beverage company, announced the elimination of 259 jobs in Germany. The cuts focus on administrative positions in Frankfurt am Main, Düsseldorf and Euskirchen, while production and sales remain unaffected. The job losses were first announced by the company in October 2025 and further specified in April 2026. The job cuts are planned to be implemented by the end of 2027.
The reduction is part of a global efficiency strategy that responds to changing market conditions and leverages digitalisation to streamline operations. Due to declining sales, the company is pursuing cost‑cutting programmes.
Nestlé plans to minimise layoffs by offering severance packages, reduced-work-hour schemes and internal transfers. The company aims to carry out any redundancies in a socially responsible manner.
Nestlé employs 6,449 in Germany.
