Howmet-Köfém, the Hungarian subsidiary of Howmet Aerospace, an American aerospace and transportation solutions provider, inaugurated its new manufacturing hall in Székesfehérvár, Hungary. The investment created 80 jobs. The expansion includes the opening of a 5 500 m² warehouse with automated technology, boosting production capacity by 50 %.
The move is driven by the adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies, reflecting a digital transition in the company’s processes.
The Székesfehérvár plant has been operating since 1993. It produces pressed aluminium wheels for vans, trucks, buses and tow trucks. The entire output is exported.
The investment cost was €44.9 million. About 30% of the cost was covered by the Hungarian government in the form of a non-refundable grant.
