Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
In June 2022, the Renoux Group started the production of LED lighting systems at its new Cholet site, relocating the production of its subsidiary, Induslum, from China. Induslum specializes in high-powered lighting for the tertiary, industrial, and sports sectors. Through this move the Renoux Group aims to ensure quality and control for these high-value products and lower production costs through eco-design. The Cholet facilities have expanded to 2,700 square meters, accommodating new metalworking workshops, component deposition and welding lines, and assembly facilities, for a €1.2 million investment. The Cholet initiative starts in 2022 with a team of three people, and the group plans to create 15 new positions within the next three years. The Renoux Group maintains a presence in China through a subsidiary focused on producing lighting for the housing sector.
