Description
IKEA Industry Poland, a Swedish furniture manufacturer belonging to Inter IKEA, plans to cut about 160 jobs at its production plant in Goleniów, affecting both production and administrative staff.
The restructuring appears to be driven by lower orders, weaker furniture demand, and cost-cutting amid a wider downturn in the furniture sector; the first dismissals were reported on 20 April 2026, while the final end date has not been made public. The collective redundancy programme reportedly provides three-month notice periods and additional payments depending on seniority. Workers and trade unions were informed during a staff meeting, and the local labour office received formal notification. The plant makes HEMNES and IDANAS pine furniture, employs around 570–580 people and follows a previous ERM case from 2023 covering 130 job losses.
