Description
Centre France, a French media group, announced a social plan that will cut 152 jobs across its network. The layoffs affect the printing centre in Auxerre, the editorial teams in Sens, Joigny, Avallon and Vézelay, and staff at the Clermont-Ferrand headquarters. The plan is part of a transformation strategy aimed at accelerating digitalisation within the group.
The cuts are set to take effect at the beginning of 2027, with the group expecting to achieve €13 million in annual cost savings. The decision has prompted a strong response from syndicates such as CGT, FO, SNJ and CFDT, who highlighted the negative impact on local news coverage.
