Description
The Finnish company Valmet intends to close down its production in Sundsvall, Sweden, which might lead to a reduction of 170 job roles. The company is additionally planning changes to its production in Gothenburg, which is estimated to affect around 55 job roles.
The restructuring measures will now be subject to trade union negotiations. Valmet is also initiating trade union negotiations at its Global Supply unit in Poland, affecting at most 130 roles.
Valmet supplies processes and equipment for process industries. It has about 1,700 employees in Sweden, of which around 500 work in Sundsvall. Globally, the company employs approximately 18,500 people.
