Description
Strama-MPS, a German mechanical engineering company, announced the elimination of up to 135 jobs at its headquarters in Straubing (Bavaria). The measure affects employees at the main site and is part of a strategic realignment of the company following a significant decline in orders from the automotive industry.
The job cuts are part of structural adjustments aimed at securing long-term competitiveness. At the same time, the company plans to diversify more strongly into other sectors such as medical technology, aerospace, defense, and energy technology. The measures will be implemented starting in April 2026.
The affected employees are to transfer to a transition program where training and support measures will be offered. The workforce reduction was developed in consultation with the works council and is to be implemented in a socially responsible manner.
Strama-MPS employs approximately 1,800 people worldwide.
