Description
Sturm Group, a German machinery and plant engineering group will lay off 95 employees, equivalent to around a third of its staff at its Salching site by March 2026.
The reason for this measure is the insolvency filed in December 2025. According to the company, the insolvency was triggered by declining orders and restrained customer investment, which resulted in a significant financial imbalance.
Employees’ salaries were secured until February 2026. The foreign subsidiaries as well as the sheet‑metal processing division in Germany are not affected by the insolvency or the job cuts.
A total of 288 employees work at the Salching location.
