Description

Whoop, the US-based human performance and wearable technology company, has announced that it plans to create about 600 new jobs worldwide.

The majority of the new roles will be based at the company's headquarters in Boston, but Whoop also plans to significantly expand its Irish operations in Limerick. The company will recruit staff for multiple departments, including software engineering, research and design, hardware development, product, and marketing.

The business expansion is part of a global scaling strategy aimed at dominating the health monitoring category through a combination of human talent and artificial intelligence.

Whoop produces a screenless wearable device and membership platform that tracks physiological metrics such as heart rate variability (HRV), sleep quality, and respiratory rate. The company employs about 800 people worldwide, including about 100 in Ireland.
