European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Multi-metal and battery chemicals producer Terrafame has announced that it will start cooperation negotiations covering its full workforce of 887 employees. According to the company's preliminary estimates, the negotiations might result in a reduction of up to 120 full-year equivalents, temporary layoffs, or changed working arrangements.
Terrafame has been affected by increased mining mineral taxes, which resulted in a profit loss of €6 million in 2025. The company is estimating that it will have to pay over €30 million in increased taxes in 2026. According to Terrafame, it aims to save up to €10 million in a year as a result of the ongoing negotiations and thus mitigate some of the effects of the increased tax.
Updated, 30/3/2026: Cooperation negotiations at the company have resulted in a lowering of the initial number of job cuts. The final and maximum number of full-year equivalents to be reduced is 109. Several employees will be offered new job tasks. Additionally, the company will introduce temporary layoffs for as long as 90 days.
