Description
Machinery manufacturer Weber Schraubautomaten has announced plans to cut 60 of the 360 positions at its site in Wolfratshausen, Bavaria.
According to the company, the measure is intended to create financial flexibility for future investments. Weber had experienced revenue losses due to the economic downturn affecting both the industrial and automotive sectors.
The staff reduction was carried out without a social plan and involved only one redundancy for operational reasons. Thirty‑nine employees opted for a voluntary severance programme, others chose partial retirement or early retirement, and some left the company of their own accord.
The company is part of the internationally active Weber Group, which employs 500 people worldwide.
