Description
La Menorquina, an Spanish ice-cream manufacturer, has announced the creation of up to 200 new jobs after a €15 million investment to expand its production plant in Palau-solità i Plegamans (Vallès Occidental). The expansion includes the installation of a new multifunctional production line, scheduled to become operational in January 2027, aimed at increasing manufacturing capacity and strengthening the company’s industrial footprint.
The new line will be capable of producing a range of products, including bonbons, ice cream sandwiches and spirals, enabling greater flexibility within the company’s catalogue. As a result of the expansion, annual output is expected to rise from 30 million to nearly 40 million ice creams, with a production capacity of around 30,000 units per hour. Financially, La Menorquina closed 2024 with revenues exceeding €119 million, continuing a sustained recovery since 2020. The company exports more than one third of its production, to around 40 countries, with the United States as a key market.
