Description
The Swiss pharmaceutical company Roche has opened an innovation center for diagnostic research and development at its site in Penzberg, Bavaria. The facility is expected to employ 1,000 people by June 2026.
The expansion is driven by Roche’s commitment to digitalization, automation and modern robotics, which the company says will shorten key development steps by 30 %. Roche has invested €300 million in the 23,000-square-metre building in Penzberg. In total, the company has put more than €3.5 billion into German sites since 2020.
Roche employs a total of 7,700 people at the Penzberg site and 18,250 across Germany.
