Description
Hüppe, a German manufacturer of sanitation systems, announced to cut 112 jobs while preserving 71 positions at its Bad Zwischenahn site.
Earlier in autumn 2025, the company had entered bankruptcy proceedings with the goal to restructure its business. The company cites the economic downturn in the construction sector and rising material and energy costs as the primary drivers of the restructuring.
The management entered negotiations with its works council and the German Metalworkers' Union. After several negotiation rounds, social partners struck an agreement on the site’s future security. Apart from the above mentioned job cuts, the agreement also entails the establishment of a transfer agency. Transfer agencies are used in Germany to offer special support (such as training or job counselling) to dismissed employees.
