European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Lithaunian furniture manufacturer Šilutės baldai has informed the Public Employment Service (PES) that it is laying off 45 of its 388 employees, more than 10 percent of its staff. Among those being laid off are 20 operators, 5 locksmiths, 5 foremen, 4 senior operators, and 4 production workers. The layoff process is expected to be completed by May 14.
According to PES representatives, due to a decline in the company's sales, orders, and production capacity, the company needed to optimise its resources and reduce the number of employees, but its operations remain stable.
The company was registered in 1992.
