Description
The Danish Armed Forces are establishing a new unit, Eskadrille 729, which will rely on long‑range unmanned aircraft to monitor activity in the Arctic, North Atlantic and Baltic Sea, including Greenland. According to the source, the plan has been announced and recruitment has already begun, with around 100 people needed to operate and support the new drone capability. Pilots will be selected internally, while system operators, technicians and additional personnel are expected to be recruited externally.
The first crew will be designated this year and later sent to the United States for training.
