The pharmaceutical company Lek, owned by the Swiss group Sandoz, is investing in Lendava, creating 330 new jobs. Construction is under way on a factory to manufacture active ingredients for similar biological medicines in Lendava. An investment of over €540 million will create around 330 new jobs in the Prekmurje region, including approximately 180 high value-added positions. The centre is expected to open in 2026.
Of all 3,024 employees in Lek, 27 percent are employed in Lendava. Almost two-thirds of new hires are under the age of 35, indicating a generational transition and development momentum.
