Description
Romanian company, RAAL, manufacturer of complete cooling systems and heat exchangers made of aluminum alloys and stainless steel, announced the dismissal of 250 employees by the end of 2026, at its Bistrita plant.
The company is the second-largest employer in Bistrița-Nasaud County. According to public data, RAAL reported a net loss of 29.2 million RON (€5.8 million) in 2024, down from a net profit of 262,562 RON (€53,000) achieved in 2023. In 2024, the company’s average headcount reached 1,763 employees, 257 fewer than the previous year. In February 2025, the company rejected a financial recovery measure that would have involved finding a potential investor in exchange for a transfer of shares. The decision was taken after the shareholders discussed the company's financial situation for the period 2018–2024, while proposing measures to improve the financial standing of the business
During the notice period, the dismissed employees will benefit from pre-dismissal services and active support from Bistrita-Nasaud County Employment Agency. This support includes information services, professional counseling, labour mediation, and access to vocational training programs, aimed at ensuring their rapid reintegration on the labour market.
By the end of 2025, the company had a workforce of 1,538 employees.
