Description
Weinig Group, a German manufacturer of machines and systems for solid wood processing, has announced that it will cut approximately 400 jobs worldwide within the next two years.
The layoffs will primarily affect German sites. The company has emphasised its commitment to a socially responsible implementation of these changes and initiated the process by personally informing employees to maintain transparency.
The measure is part of its ‘Transformation 2027’ program. The restructuring is driven by persistent market volatility, geopolitical risks, such as the US-China trade conflict and the war in Ukraine, and a current order situation that has fallen behind expectations.
The group has its production sites in Germany, Austria, Luxembourg, China, and the United States.
