Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Hungarian subsidiary of the German holding company Körber has completed two production capacity expansion projects and announced an expansion of its regional shared service centre in Pécs, Southern Transdanubia. A total of 150 new jobs will be created as a result. The SSC investment alone will create 100 qualified jobs in the fields of IT, engineering, procurement and finance.
The two production capacity expansion projects were related to the company’s pharmaceutical packaging and inspection machinery unit, as well as its tobacco pre-processing machinery unit.
The combined investment cost is €40.8 million. The government is supporting the SSC expansion by providing a €6 million grant to the company.
