Description
IBM, an American multinational technology company, has announced plans to cut around 300 jobs in France. These redundancies form part of a wider round of layoffs across Europe, which could affect up to 10% of the workforce: IBM 2026 - EU, and IBM also plans to cut 57 positions in Belgium
The exact number of job losses has not yet been confirmed, with estimations around 357 job losses. The restructuring plan is expected to rely on voluntary departures and early retirement schemes, with the aim of avoiding direct dismissals.
The restructuring aims to boost productivity in the hybrid cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) segments, with job cuts affecting roles in Technology, Consulting and Support Functions. This comes despite the company reporting solid business performance in 2024, with revenue growth of 9%.
