Description
German manufacturer of heating systems, Brötje, announced to restructure its business and cut 203 jobs in Germany. Affected are employees at its site in Rastede (Lower Saxony) and Schweinfurt (Bavaria). By the end of 2026, 108 employees will loose their job at the production site in Rastede.
Due to low demand, the company intends to divide its heating system production across its locations in other countries. The company did not state where exactly this will be. However, the site in Rastede is to become the company's service hub that will also produce spare parts for the company's different heating systems. 40 employees will be newly employed in the service hub.
When it comes to the planned job cuts, Brötje is quoted in the press to start negotiations on socially acceptable solutions with the works council soon.
The company has more than 100 years of history at the Rastede location.
