Description
Rottneros, a Swedish pulp producer, announced the reduction of 47 jobs at its Rottneros Mill in Sunne, Sweden, in March 2025. The majority of the affected employees work at the Sunne mill, where the company produces chemical thermomechanical pulp.
The cut is driven by rising raw material costs, high electricity prices, a weaker dollar, and a global decline in demand for mechanical pulp, all of which have squeezed the company’s profitability.
Rottneros operates two pulp-producing mills in Sweden- Rottneros Mill in Sunne and Vallvik Mill in Vallvik, and also owns Rottneros Packaging AB, Nykvist Skogs AB, and SIA Rottneros Baltic, which supply raw material to the group.
