Description
Dumarey Powerglide Strasbourg, an automotive equipment manufacturer, has announced the elimination of 320 jobs following the closure of its Strasbourg site. The company had already cut 248 jobs last year, recorded in the ERM Events database: Dumarey Powerglide Strasbourg 2025 - FR.
After the loss of its main client, production levels fell by around 85%, making continued operations unviable. The dismissals will take place in three phases: around 70–100 departures in June 2026, about 200 in August 2026, and the remaining job losses at the end of 2026. Trade unions were informed of the closure and have publicly reacted with shock, describing the situation as a social and industrial catastrophe. The employer presented the closure plan to the works council, and a social plan is expected.
