Description
Polytechnyl, the French subsidiary of the Belgian group Domo Chemicals, was placed in receivership by the Lyon Commercial Court on 8 January 2026, putting at risk 540 employees, 450 in Saint-Fons and 130 in Valence, in the Drôme region. A six-month observation period has been opened.
The decision follows the bankruptcy of the group’s three German subsidiaries at the end of 2025, which led to cash-flow difficulties and a temporary suspension of salary payments in December 2025, leading to the dismissals of 585 employees.
Social partners are involved: the central works council (CSE central) was consulted prior to the request for judicial restructuring, and union representatives from CGT and FNIC CGT have reacted publicly, highlighting concerns over the lack of financial transparency and criticising the group’s ownership strategy. Judicial administrators will work with management and social partners in the coming weeks to evaluate restructuring options
