Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Danish Agency for Development and Simplification (Danish: Udviklings- og Forenklingsstyrel) plans to adjust to future declining budgetary frameworks by laying off approximately 170 to 180 employees.
These staff reductions result from the state’s administrative programme presented before the summer, which introduces savings across administrative agencies until 2030. The Ministry of Taxation (Danish: Skatteministeriet), under which the agency falls, is required to contribute around DKK 1.1 billion to the programme, with about DKK 215 million expected in 2026.
Currently, the agency employs around 1,900 employees.
