Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Sanofi España is recruiting 300 new employees, expanding its existing local workforce from 400 to 700 professionals in its new artificial intelligence (AI) and digital innovation hub in Barcelona, after an investment of €150 million.
This Barcelona hub will specialise in AI, R&D, and digital capabilities aimed at optimising the entire pharmaceutical value chain, from drug discovery to production and distribution. Sanofi has already hired 75 of the planned 300 new staff, focusing on highly specialised profiles such as data scientists, bioinformaticians, machine learning experts, and clinical research professionals. Recruitment is expected to continue throughout 2026. The Barcelona hub has grown into a strategic innovation node due to its strong talent pool and thriving scientific and technological ecosystem.
