Description
German battery manufacturer Varta has announced plans to cut 150 jobs at its Nördlingen site in Bavaria. The job cuts will affect positions in administration and production and will take place in the first quarter of 2026.
The company cited lower sales volumes and a decline in revenue and production as the reasons for the downsizing. The goal, according to Varta, is to stabilise the company.
The company stated that the job reductions will be carried out in cooperation with the works council in a socially responsible manner through a social plan and voluntary exit programmes.
Varta currently employs around 4,200 people worldwide.
