Description
The French media group Prisma Média, owner of magazines such as Télé-Loisirs and Voici, is planning a new workforce reduction plan which would affect one-third of its workforce, including 149 senior positions, and result in the loss of 240 employees. No matter whether the plan the form of PDV or PSE, the reduction in staff will be significant, with site closures expected.
In 2024, the company already cut 27 positions through voluntary departures. Then, in 2025, 60 and then 54 positions were suppressed via departure plans.
This comes in the context of growing economic difficulties that are heavily impacting the media sector. The magazine press has seen a 4% drop in circulation, while the number of print journalists has declined by 29% over the past 20 years.
