Description
Aumovio, the automotive electronics development and manufacturing company will eliminate between 641 and 1,000 positions across its three centers across the country: at least 288 layoffs are reported in the Iasi center, 117 positions at Sibiu center, and 236 positions at Timisoara center.
The layoffs will affect all sectors of the company's activity in Romania, including the User Experience, Safety and Motion, Architecture and Network Solutions, and Autonomous Mobility divisions. The measures will be implemented by the end of 2026. The company mentioned that the decision is part of a global plan to optimise operations and strategic reorientation.
In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement, dismissed employees will receive severance pay, the number of which (minimum 1 and maximum 6) will be proportional to their length of service with the company. In addition, one or two wages will be granted to employees over the age of 50 and 55, respectively, and to those in vulnerable categories, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
Aumovio was spun off from Continental Romania earlier this year, becoming independent and listing on the stock exchange in September. By the end of 2024 the company had a workforce of 1,803 people.
