Description
The German household appliance manufacturer Vorwerk, headquartered in Wuppertal, plans to cut 160 jobs at its Laaken site (Wuppertal, North Rhein-Westphalia). Employees in the research and development department will be affected, while production will not be impacted. According to the company, the development of new products has changed due to AI, and it needs to adapt in order to remain competitive and hire employees familiar with AI. Vorwerk intends to make the job cuts as socially responsible as possible.
Around 1,500 people work for Vorwerk at the Laaken site.
