Description
As announced on 17 November 2025, the machine manufacturer Vollmer Werke Maschinenfabrik plans to cut around 70 of its 580 jobs at its headquarters in Biberach an der Riß, Baden-Württemberg.
The company aims to secure its long-term competitiveness. According to the company, demand for machines for wood and metal processing has declined, especially from the automotive sector, and global trade conditions have become more challenging.
Vollmer intends to make the job cuts as socially responsible as possible. It is not clear yet which positions are affected by the restructuring. Negotiations with the workers unions are ongoing.
