As announced on 13 November 2025, the Dutch online supermarket Picnic will start operations at its new site in Kabelsketal (Saalekreis in Saxony-Anhalt) on November 19, 2025, creating 300 jobs in various logistics areas.
In the new delivery area of Halle (Saale), 4,000 households have already registered in the Picnic app to be able to receive deliveries in the future. The company focusses on sustainability and efficiency in its operations, using an EV fleet and bundling orders. Picnic is also currently expanding in France, which has also been documented in the ERM database Picnic 2025 - FR.
Picnic delivers in the Netherlands, Germany, and France and employs around 2,000 people.
